Li Li, President
Master in Information Management and Information System

Li Li is graduated from The P.L.A. Information Engineering University and holds an Information Management and Information System degree. He is currently leading the China Youth Climate Action Network (CYCAN). When he was a sophomore in College, he started an environment protection association on campus. In 2005 he united 20 universities in Henan province and founded the Green Henan. In 2006 he participated in the College Environmental Forum (CEF) that focused on energy conservation and emission reduction. Li was later elected as the Under-Secretary-General for the Forum. In 2007, he founded CYCAN with six other youth environment organizations. At present, CYCAN is the largest youth environmental organization in China that focusing on climate changes issues. CYCAN has launched pilot programs in 23 provinces and more than 100 universities. Outside CYCAN, Li also works for the China Environmental Protection Foundation (CEPF) and China Dialogue. In addition, he has enrolled in the BELL climate change and marketization program in Peking University as well as a Globalization and Social Transformation program in Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Li also attended the COP14 in Poznan, Poland as the CYCAN delegation.
Fenglei Ma, Vice president

Fenglei Ma is the senior at Tsinghua University, major in Environmental science and engineering. As an active member of THU green, she has worked for three years in this organization. Inspired by the EC group and the passionate people around her, she is now engaged in preparing the Chinese conference as one of the coordinators. She believes that there is more to do than can ever be done in the environment area, and she keeps learning.
Lina Li, Conference Design Chief Coordinator

Lina was shocked when she attended the US-China Clean Energy Forum last year, in which most of the time only the Americans were talking while Chinese participants just sit in silence. As a believer of making CHANGE, she has been working on her idea of WECAN (world energy and climate action network) since then, to educate, involve and empower Chinese youth with international network. As conference design chief coordinator, Lina's taking leadership role in organizing IYSECC and deeply involved in external marketing for the summit. The second ongoing project is to set up WECAN club at her university (Pku International Student Energy Initiative), where she is working as co-founder. Lina is also preparing for her master thesis on emission trading.
Xiangyu Zhao (Shane), International Director

Shane comes from a city called Qitaihe in Heilongjiang, the most northern province of China. After he graduated from Nankai High School in Tianjin in 2006, he traveled in China to know more about his country and its environmental problems. After seeing this, he and his 'Green Brother' John decided to start China's Green Beat www.chinasgreenbeat.com together. China Green Beat is a video podcast on China's environmental issues and solutions. Shane is also the International Director of CYCAN. He is working on international cooperation and communication projects of CYCAN ensuring that the youth from China and other countries can work together to fight the climate challenge. He believes that in 2009 there will be more Chinese youth to participate in UN Climate Summit (COP15) in Copenhagen and other international climate negotiations through the efforts of his team.
Xiaoming Sun, Assistant President

Xiaoming is very active in some activities on environment protection and climate change. In the planning of IYSECC, she is responsible for public relations cooperating with Ma Fenglei from THUgreen. For the time being, she is also working on Transformative Youth Leadership Project (YLP) which is initiated by CDMClub members and sponsored by Global Focus.
Yupu Zhao, Conference European Coordinator

Yupu is a junior majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Chemistry. He is the co-president of the student environmental clubs on campus, Environmental Action Alliance. He has been active in the campus sustainable initiatives including establishing a sustainable theme house, running a weekly fair trade cafŽ, and implementing the first green house gas inventory. Yupu is the Davis Project for Peace grant recipient for 2008 and launched an Environmental Leadership Program for local university student leaders in Chengdu, China. He is currently doing an exchange program in Copenhagen, Denmark, studying European Politics. He is involved in the incoming Òour-opportunityÓ conference hosted by EC Denmark while serving as the conference European coordinator for IYSECC.

Ning is in charge of the external contacting of the international youth summit on energy and climate change in THU Green. Ning a student at Tsinghua University, currently seeking an opportunity to continue his graduate study in United State major in Environment Studies.
Yuan Cao

Yuan is a Chinese student studying in U.S. She has been in CYCAN for four months. She was fascinated by the challenge and opportunity in facing climate change when she gradually got to know about climatic issues and got involved into actions. She now is translating the Ònews dailyÓ released by CYCAN, and participating in the preparation for the IYSECC held in China.
Wanlin Deng
Undergraduate Student, Franklin and Marshall College

Wanlin is a freshman at Franklin & Marshall College. He came from Changsha, where fast development is always the dominating force in shaping the city. Wanlin believes it is important to nurture people's environmental awareness. Pursing a major in Environmental Studies, Wanlin also worked in the lab of Earth Department. He is also working on bringing a sustainable farm to the college. In the end of 2008, he became a coordinator of CYCAN in the U.S. Wanlin is now working for CYCAN in facilitating its US programs and building up cooperation among Chinese and American youth.
